Fox News Correpondent Peter Doocy Answers Trump's 'Transparent' Prez Question

President Donald Trump sent some love to Fox News reporter Peter Doocy as he joked during his White House Correspondents' Dinner speech Friday night, but Peter didn't get the chance to answer a question the Prez asked him .... until now.

Check it out ... TMZ D.C.'s Charlie Cotton caught up with the senior White House correspondent after the dinner and brought up Trump calling him out during his speech. Charlie pointed to the moment Trump asked PD who the "most transparent president ever" is.

During the dinner, Peter asked Trump if he should stand up to answer the question, but the moment fell flat because Peter didn't have access to a microphone. No one would've heard his response.

Well, TMZ DC to the rescue ... 'cause Charlie had a mic ready for Doocy's witty response -- and, while he didn't answer it squarely, Peter sarcastically harkened back to the moment a different prez called him "stupid," but with more colorful language.

ICYMI, former President Joe Biden called Doocy a "stupid son of a bitch" during a White House press conference on January 24, 2022, after he had asked Biden about inflation impacting the midterm elections.

Totally fair question, at the time, but POTUS clearly opted for insults instead of answers

Peter's comments came after Friday night's smaller-scale redo of the White House Correspondents' Dinner took place at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C.

As you know, the OG dinner was rescheduled and placed under tighter security after a gunman fired shots back in April as the event was about to begin inside the Washington Hilton.

It was the first time Trump attended the White House Correspondents' Dinner for during his presidency after previously skipping the event.

Last night's event went off without a hitch ... and Trump seemed to be in a great mood as he aimed jokes at CNN's Kaitlan Collins for her alleged lack of smiling, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, Bruce Springsteen, and several Democratic figures.

He also joked about serving for a third term ... and even shrugged off an awkward moment when the Wall Street Journal was awarded for uncovering details about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
